Our Story
A curated toy store and family play destination in Kingscliff, not a warehouse of everything.
We choose every toy ourselves
Wonderloft is owned and run by Chris and Eliane. We choose the range ourselves, one product at a time.
You will often find one of us on the shop floor. Ask either of us for help choosing a gift.
How we choose
Every product on our shelves has to give a child something to do, not just something to look at. We check each one against these six questions. If a product offers only novelty or a passing trend, we leave it out.
Make something
Can a child build, draw, shape or decorate something of their own with it?
Work it out
Does it set a puzzle, ask a question or show how something works?
Tell a story
Does it give a child characters, a world or a role to play?
Play together
Can a family or a group of friends play it at the same table?
Get better at it
Does it reward practice, so the tenth go feels better than the first?
Hands on
Is it something a child actively plays with, not something they only watch?
A real shop in Kingscliff
Wonderloft is a shop you can walk into, not only a website. Come in to browse, try something at the play table or ask for help choosing a gift.
The Loft
The Loft is our space for play sessions, workshops and parties. It's paused for now.
